What a Day in Baseball

Yesterday, on the first of the Major League Baseball playoffs, Roy Halladay, a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, threw a no hitter.  This was Halladay’s second no hitter of the season which is rare enough on its own.  However, this was also only the second time that a no hitter has been thrown in the post season, the first being back in the 1950’s.  To make this story even greater, this was Halladay’s first playoff appearance even though he has been in the league for 11 years.

It is stories like this one that make me love sports.  It is the drama of watching somebody do something that everyone thought was just impossible.  It is the cinderella story of a man that many people had already written off.  There is nothing like the drama of sports.

This is a video of the last out of the game.  Watch it and I dare you to tell me that it isn’t exciting.
